At St. Timothy Christian Academy, we believe that technology skills are vital to our student population. We have a fully-equipped computer lab with a full-time computer teacher. Keyboarding skills are taught to all grades. As students become proficient in their keyboarding skills, they are given the option of using Alpha Smarts to complete their assignments in the classroom. In this computer age, our goal is for our students to have real-life, practical technology skills. Students in 2nd–8th grades are taught the basics of several Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. All students are given weekly exposure to the internet and are taught the importance of cyberspace safety.
As an added bonus, our 7th and 8th grade students work with their advisor to create our yearbook, including taking pictures, designing and laying out pages. Some of the students’ favorite projects are creating a list for Santa in MS Word and going online to find the best prices for him, creating their own business cards, creating a fairytale book in the form of a slide show, and the “All About Me” slideshow where students bring in pictures from throughout their life and tell us their life story. This year the students also designed Christmas cards that were sent to “friends of St. Timothy” and thank you cards that are sent to all St. Timothy donors.
The mission of St. Timothy Christian Academy is to educate students in grades K-9th needing a non-traditional approach for academic success in a redemptive Christian setting while providing hope and support for their families.
"For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. - 2 Timothy 1:7
