St. Timothy Christian Academy is a faith-based school for students with learning differences. Teachers integrate the Christian faith and the Bible not only through lessons, character traits and chapel time, but also principles for living and references to God's plan throughout the curriculum content, learning process and behavior management. Our mission statement uses the word "redemptive". Our goal is to live out this biblical concept through accepting students as they are, allowing them to make mistakes and grow from them, as well as the opportunity to begin fresh each day without the reminder of past errors. Parents experience redemption through a new start in our school, acceptance of their child and them, through relationships that build hope and support that builds trust.
The STCA classroom provides a nurturing environment with a ratio of one teacher and one assistant per a maximum group of ten students. It is structured yet not rigid. Classrooms are physically set up to provide access to learning and designed to engage learners.
Instructional methods are primarily multi-sensory, include re-teaching, and address individual student ability level. STCA uses the TEKS standards for each grade level, follows curriculum for each subject, and integrates many types of additional instructional methods, materials and enrichment.
Since many students with learning interferences also struggle with behaviors, teachers are trained to respond to students and maintain classroom behavior management through therapeutic methods. The school has established a "Responsibility Management System (RMS)" of earned privileges to help each student be successful.

The mission of St. Timothy Christian Academy is to educate students in grades K-8th needing a non-traditional approach for academic success in a redemptive Christian setting while providing hope and support for their families.
